Cover letters start to read the same and can wind up sounding perfunctory if you're starting to send hundreds out. Here's where you can use AI and classic storytelling techniques in your cover letter to sell yourself better.

Act 1: What I Do

This is the story setup. It introduces you as the main character and where you currently are in your journey.

Prompt Example: "Introduce myself as a candidate and the work experience I have that's relevant for the role."

Act 2: The Challenge I Faced

Act 2 introduces the challenge you've faced in your journey. It should make the reader stop & say 'wow, how did that happen?'

Prompt Example: "The cover letter should include my experience at {company} and how I was faced with {the challenge}.

Act 3: How I Overcame It & What I Learnt From It

The final act should describe how you overcame the challenge & what the experience taught you.

Prompt: "The Final Act of the cover letter should explain how I beat the challenge & how I can bring that learning to the new company."

A cover letter alone won't land you that dream job but a well crafted one using classic storytelling techniques will help hook the reader into imagining yourself in the role.
